Novembre è stato un mese all’insegna della non-fiction. Come sempre, oggi vi presenterò i libri, i film e i telefilm delle ultime settimane.  Molti saggi, tanti film e qualche nuova puntata di diverse serie tv. Essendo stato un mese di viaggi, ciò che vedete di seguito è soprattutto il frutto di tutto il tempo passato da sola. Abbiamo qualche libro/film/telefilm in comune? Scrivetemi che ne pensate!

LA MIA OPINIONE:

Sono del parere che i testi sacri vadano letti,  a prescindere dal proprio credo. Mi interessano moltissimo le connessioni e gli aspetti comuni alle diverse religioni. Nel Canto del Beato è possibile trovare molti punti di contatto con la Bibbia, per esempio. In più, è una piacevole lettura che, a chi non crede, può apparire come una semplice favola per adulti. Da leggere.

LA TRAMA:

La migliore amica che tradì la sua fiducia dopo cinque anni, quelli delle elementari, di complicità ininterrotta e simbiosi pressoché totale. Un parrucchiere anarchico, poco incline all’ascolto delle clienti e molto a gestire taglio e colore in assoluta libertà. Il primo ragazzo a essersi rivolto a lei chiamandola gentilmente “signora”. Un ex fidanzato soprannominato Mister Amuchina per la sua ossessione paranoide verso l’igiene e l’ordine, prima che un incidente ponesse provvidenzialmente fine all’asettica relazione. La suora che avrebbe voluto fare di lei la prima “Santa Selvaggia” della storia. Sono solo alcuni dei personaggi inseriti da Selvaggia Lucarelli nella sua personalissima blacklist, un girotondo di piccoli infami che, più o meno inconsapevolmente, l’hanno trasformata anche solo per pochi minuti in una persona peggiore.

LA MIA OPINIONE

Lo ammetto: ho riso tanto. Non amo particolarmente Selvaggia e non la seguo su Facebook perché mi mette l’ansia. Devo anche sottolineare che questo libro non mantiene sempre lo stesso standard di qualità. La prima parte è sicuramente più divertente e spumeggiante, mentre la seconda sembra un’eco della prima. Tuttavia, devo dire che mi sono divertita e che è una lettura ideale per prendersi qualche ora di pausa dal mondo. In particolare, ricordo con grande piacere il capitolo dedicato alla “mamma di Nicoletta”. Lì ho riso veramente tantissimo, in un autobus di Bruges, con la gente del posto che mi guardava male. Ne è valsa la pena, dai.

LA TRAMA:

LA MIA OPINIONE:

Questo è stato il primo libro che ho comprato a Dublino e ammetto di averlo letto molto lentamente. Innanzitutto si tratta di un saggio scientifico che merita una certa dose di concentrazione. In più, non è particolarmente scorrevole, almeno per me che sono abituata a leggere saggi letterari. Tuttavia, è stata una lettura interessante e, a mio parere, molto utile. Non mi ero mai fermata a pensare allo stato ‘ferale’ della natura, a quanto l’uomo lo stia modificando. A cosa si può fare per tornare a una condizione di naturale ‘rewilding’. Davvero interessante.

LA TRAMA:

Nearly 25 years after Housekeeping, Marilynne Robinson returns with an intimate tale of three generations, from the Civil War to the 20th century: a story about fathers and sons and the spiritual battles that still rage at America’s heart. LA MIA OPINIONE:

L’ho amato tantissimo. Ammetto che alcune pagine possano risultare un po’ ‘lente’ e che ci siano delle ripetizioni. Qualcuno potrebbe anche non apprezzare il forte contesto religioso nel quale si svolge la narrazione. Tuttavia, per me è stata una lettura illuminante. Ha i suoi difetti, ma è un libro che tocca nel profondo e che emoziona. Sicuramente andrò avanti con i libri successivi della serie.

LA TRAMA:

Questo Workbook è nato con l’intento di aiutare i possessori di un sito web a gestire la propria presenza online con semplici linee guida. Dove la gente vede solo numeri, percentuali e click, io vedo una storia che deve essere raccontata, i comportamenti possibili e quelli reali. Risalgo a disegni ben precisi, provo a individuare gli errori compiuti e quelli futuri da evitare e il potenziale complessivo di tutto il sito. Voglio condividere un punto di vista diverso, che cerca di collegare i puntini e creare una panoramica più ampia di tutto quello a cui si dovrebbe stare attenti quando si gestisce la propria presenza digitale.

LA MIA OPINIONE:

Molto utile, soprattutto per chi è alle prime armi in quanto a ‘presenza digitale’. Chiaro, mai ripetitivo né autocelebrativo. Consigliato.

LA TRAMA:

LA MIA OPINIONE:

Molto, molto, molto piacevole. Questo è stato il mio primo acquisto su Audible e l’ho trovato davvero appassionante. Non c’è niente di meglio che camminare per strada e lasciare che qualcuno ti legga un bel romanzo direttamente nelle cuffie.

LA TRAMA:

È il 1945 e la guerra è finita. Il momento tanto atteso e sognato dai Cazalet per anni è finalmente arrivato. Eppure, l’eccitazione di fronte alla notizia che le armi sono state deposte è ormai sopita, e l’Inghilterra è ancora paralizzata nella morsa della privazione. Mentre l’impero si disgrega, a Home Place i Cazalet si apprestano a trascorrere quello che ha tutto il sapore dell’ultimo Natale insieme: il sapore malinconico del tempo che passa. I bambini sono ormai cresciuti, le ragazze si sono fatte donne, e gli adulti cominciano a invecchiare…

LA MIA OPINIONE:

Anche questa volta, bocca cucita. Mi manca ancora un volume da leggere, e poi finalmente vi dirò ciò che penso di questa saga. Spoiler: la sto adorando.

“Esiste un futuro del passato, un suo divenire che lo trasforma. Come la realtà, anche l’io che la vive e la guarda si scopre plurale”.

LA TRAMA:

Paesaggi, umori, incontri, riflessioni, racconti di un viaggiatore sterniano che scende con pietas e con humour lungo il vecchio fiume, dalle sorgenti al Mar Nero, ripercorrendo insieme la propria vita e le stagioni della cultura contemporanea, le sue fedi e le sue inquietudini. Un itinerario fra romanzo e saggio che racconta la cultura come esperienza esistenziale e ricostruisce a mosaico, attraverso i luoghi visitati e interrogati, le civiltà dell’Europa centrale.

LA MIA OPINIONE:

Anche questa è stata una lettura ‘lenta’. Ricordo con particolare piacere di averlo letto soprattutto a Budapest. Ho questo ricordo negli occhi: il Danubio visto dall’alto dall’aereo e le pagine di Magris che mi portano proprio lì, in Ungheria. Ci sono libri che vanno letti al momento giusto, altrimenti perdono di significato. Amo Magris, il modo in cui riesce a scrivere saggi e a insegnare moltissimo senza risultare pedante. C’è molto del romanzo, in quest’opera, e forse proprio per questo l’ho apprezzata così tanto. C’è voluto del tempo per completare la lettura, ma sono felicissima di non averla abbandonata.

LA TRAMA:

Quando viene selezionata come concorrente per Nerve, un gioco in diretta online, Vee non è sicura che avrà il coraggio necessario ad affrontare le sfide via via proposte. Eppure chiunque si nasconda dietro Nerve sembra conoscerla alla perfezione e sapere esattamente ciò che desidera: i premi sono allettanti e il suo partner nel gioco è il ragazzo perfetto, il brillante e sensuale Ian. In un primo momento tutto si rivela incredibilmente divertente: i fan di Vee e Ian tifano per loro e li spingono ad alzare la posta con imprese sempre più rischiose. Ma il gioco ha una svolta poco chiara quando i partecipanti vengono indirizzati verso una località segreta con altri cinque giocatori per il round del Gran Premio.

LA MIA OPINIONE:

Mi sono già dilungata a proposito di questo romanzo (e del film che ne è stato tratto). Non aggiungo altro. Per chi si fosse perso la recensione, vi anticipo solamente che si intitola “Cose che accadono quando l’editor sviene durante il lavoro”.

Ho rivisto la trilogia completa. Ero a Bruxelles, mi sentivo sola e non ci sarebbe potuta essere soluzione migliore. Guardateli, se per qualche caso strano non l’avete ancora fatto. Sono semplici, leggeri ma meravigliosi.

LA TRAMA:

Paris. Sa mère venant de mourir, Junie, 16 ans, change de lycée en cours d’année. Dans sa nouvelle classe, elle retrouve son cousin Mathias qui la présente à ses amis. L’un d’eux, Otto, la séduit. Mais c’est avec Nemours, son professeur d’italien, qu’elle découvre la passion…

LA MIA OPINIONE:

Amo tantissimo Garrel e il cinema francese in generale, quindi questo potrebbe aver influenzato il mio giudizio. Non è il mio film preferito in assoluto, però è molto piacevole e ha delle trovate davvero interessanti. Mi è piaciuto in particolare il rimanere costantemente in bilico tra la tragedia e la commedia, nonché il riferimento alla Princesse de Clèves. E poi, in questo film Garrel interpreta un professore d’italiano. C’est moi!
